The article entitled: “Masing questions alleged transfer of 80,000 teachers” was carried out by The Borneo Post on Wednesday May 25, 2011.
[QUOTE: § “...PRS president Dato Sri Dr James Masing said at the moment, the state already had 30,000 Peninsular Malaysian teachers including ‘ustaz’ (religious teachers). - § “But the ‘ustaz’ are not seen as ‘ustaz’ per se, they are called ‘counselling teachers’. - §“Counsellors on what matter, I do not know. It is quite worrying in the sense that if they are really who they are, then the tendency of teaching is not there,” he commented.- § Masing said he was not worried about his opinion being misinterpreted by certain quarters. - § “If they are so-called counsellors in a correct form, I do not mind. If they are masquerading something else then it is quite dangerous,” he said. - § He said Sarawak had been very peaceful and liberal in all aspects including religious matters. - § Truth is a fearful thing.” ”UNQUOTE]
Tan Sri Dr. James Masing,
I admire and thank you for your concern and great courage for making such a bold statement on the issue of great concern affecting Sarawakian teachers, and also "not-yet-felt" concern on the part of Natives parents and students in rural schools. And as you said knowing: “TRUTH IS A FEARFUL THING”. On the other hand, "IGNORANCE IS BLISSFULLNESS"(Anon).
I salute you, Sir !

My Comments
Had such statement been uttered by non-BN people, BN and Perkasa boys would have ‘nyetik” (or pelted) him or her with pellets of mud.
Although the news seems outdated, the issue remains real and will continue to be so (unabated).
Insofar as Sarawak is concerned, it is “only hoped” that it would not be like what Lim Kit Siang described in his book entitled: “Time Bomb”. With the recent public outcry of “anti-outsiders interferences”[or call it "hate-outsiders-politics"] made by “boys” in state BN for whatever reasons, SNAP’s ‘oldies’ : “Sarawak For Sarawakians” is still not totally irrelevant.
On analysis, the matter has connection with a long-term strategic plan in pursuance of “Politics of Federalism” by the central government. Josef Stalin called it the process of “Democratic Centralism”. As for China, DID NOT the Red Army tactically formed “hsih-hsih” cells system to blend, indoctrinate, strengthen and expand rural bases [.i.e “masses work” en masse] in order to encircle towns and cities to advance the cause of communism throughout China with strict adherence to the “Red Book” [i.e Thoughts of Chairman Mao Tze Tung] “ to support militant approach by “Power grows from barrel of gun”[sic]?
Nation building is a indeed a complex political tasks being influenced by external forces and borderless nation-state. The serious task at hand for all Malaysians is to walk-the-talk and ensure TRUE 1Malaysia Concept not only an ideal, but a "felt" reality.
CHEERS!!
Subtle invasion ( of whatever-politically, religiously, socially,economically...etc) of Sarawak has been in the 'pipeline' (so they say in business talk...)for years. In fact it is amazing the amount of patience some people have in keeping the 'plan' under wrap.
ReplyDeleteIn the midst of forwarding our political differences and standing on various gounds, Sarawakians are yet UNITED in rejecting the plan of transfering the 80,000 teachers from Semenanjung to Sarawak- a blessing that unites us!
Not too long ago, a leader publicly said that people who are not from Semenanjung should leave Semenanjung. To this I say "Send me home...I'm a Sarawakian". To all who stand for 'Fair Land Sarawak' - blessed be your going in and going outs.
Checking to this blog again soon...Thumbs Up Ejau! and yes-well done Dr.James Masing
Two most divisive factors and seen as real hiderances to the success of 1Malaysia are religious and racial extremism voiced by certain group and race.
ReplyDeleteTalking about religious and racial harmony is nothingness where tolerance is one-sided.
My friend Ejau,
ReplyDeleteAm so glad that you have joined us the crazy blogspherist ! Great stuff and keep up the good work.
